Organizations that are actively seeking individuals with skills and experience in the arts and humanities who are willing to offer their services and work on a voluntary basis without remuneration on projects that benefit the organization or provide entertainment for the people it serves.

Organizations that are actively seeking individuals with the requisite skills and experience who are willing to work on a voluntary basis without remuneration in communities that have been devastated by a major fire, flood, hurricane, earthquake, tornado, tsunami, volcanic eruption, landslide, mudslide, snowstorm, drought, famine, explosion or nuclear accident, the outbreak of civil unrest, or other large-scale emergency of natural or human origin that disrupts the community's normal functioning. Volunteers may offer their services prior to an emergency and wait to be called to provide assistance; or may make contact following the emergency if they recognize that their skills are needed.

Food Production/Preparation/Delivery Volunteer Opportunities

Food banks, food pantries, meal preparation programs and other similar organizations that are actively seeking individuals with the requisite skills who are willing to support food distribution and meal programs on a voluntary basis without remuneration. Also included are farming operations that are seeking volunteers who are willing to do farm work (tilling/planting/cultivating/harvesting).

Organizations that are actively seeking individuals with the requisite skills and experience who are willing to help the agency with any of a wide variety of special events (e.g., parties, dances, receptions, concerts, lecture series, arts fairs, charity golf tournaments or walkathons) on a voluntary basis without remuneration. Volunteers may be asked to greet, register and orient the event guests; collect payments; hand out programs; assist with crowd control, exhibit interactions, coat-check and behind-the-scenes operations; and take on other tasks to help ensure that the event runs smoothly.

Transportation Volunteer Opportunities

Organizations that are actively seeking individuals with a valid driver license and current insurance who are willing, on a voluntary basis without remuneration, to provide transportation or transportation related services for the agency itself or the people it serves.

Volunteer Mobilization Events

Programs that sponsor events whose purpose is to mobilize large numbers of volunteers to help local organizations who need assistance, to work on a special, one or two-day project, or to lend their support to a special issue, e.g., youth services.
